Mahnomen Community
Mahnomen, population 1,169, is located on the White Earth Reservation in northwestern Minnesota. Mahnomen, which is the Chippewa name for “Wild Rice,” serves as the county seat and as a trade, health, education, recreation, and tourism center for those living within a 40-mile radius. It has also become a host for meetings for numerous organizations from throughout Minnesota.
