Cancer Registry

Our Cancer Registry program at Innovis Health Cancer Center (IHCC) has been gathering information on patients who have been diagnosed and treated with cancer since 1988.

Data is utilized internally for quality assessments and evaluation of patient outcomes, as well as submitted externally to the North Dakota Cancer Registry, The Minnesota cancer Surveillance System and the National Cancer Data Base.

Accumulating information allows us to contribute to research on cancer development and treatment, and allows for comparison of information with other programs, both on a local and national level. The Cancer Registry staff contribute to many aspects of cancer program accreditation requirements by the Commission on Cancer.

Social Services

Our social worker, a member of the Cancer Center staff, can assist you and your family with many of the social, financial, psychological, and family challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. Working in conjunction with our multidisciplinary team, the social worker can provide and facilitate services for you and visit privately with you to discuss various needs. All information shared with the social worker is confidential. With patient approval, the social worker may contact other community agencies for assistance, when needed.

Nutrition

To help you maintain a healthy diet during this important time, a nutrition center is available in our waiting room, which includes soup, crackers, beverages, and nutritional supplements. Innovis Health Cancer Center (IHCC) also has a licensed registered dietician, offering nutrition therapy for patients on an individual basis.

Information Library

Our Cancer Resource Center has books, reference materials, and audio and videotapes on cancer-related topics. Materials may be checked out for home use.

Innovis Health Cancer Center (IHCC) also is affiliated with the American Cancer Society, which can be accessed for more information by logging on to www.cancer.org or calling 800-ACS-2345.

Wireless Access

For convenience to our patients, the Innovis Health Cancer Center also offers Wireless Internet Access. A 24-hour guest log-on and password can be created for you by contacting your nurse or by calling our hospitality desk at 701-364-4735. A laptop or other wireless capable device that supports current WiFi standards is required.

Support Programs

Innovis Health Cancer Center provides our patients with a variety of support materials and resources, so that each person, including your family members, feels educated in your journey. We highly suggest participation in support groups that are offered throughout our community so that our cancer patients can learn from other patients who have endured a similar path.

The Caring Network brochure provides information on programs that are currently available throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area.
