Innovis Health Occupational Health

Innovis Health knows that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce. That is why the Innovis Health Occupational Health Program embraces the mission to serve the health needs of business and industrial communities. The program forms a partnership between the employer, employee and the insurer to minimize the risk of work related injury and to provide comprehensive medical care and services.

Innovis Health offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the needs of the company. A staff of physicians, nurses, therapists and technicians work as a team to create a dimension of care that centers on the patient.

Primary Participants

Dr. Richard Howden

Dr. Howden is certified through the American Board of Family Practice and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He has worked closely with our client companies to provide injury management, preventative exams and medical surveillance. His Medical degree is through the University of Manitoba.

Tim Hestdalen

Tim is the Manager of the Occupational Health program. He has degrees in Business Administration, Corporate and Community Fitness and Occupational Health and Safety. Tim has more than 16 years of experience in development, management and implementation of occupational health programs. Tim oversees all the day-to-day operations of the Occupational Health program for the Innovis Health system of 22 clinics in North Dakota and Minnesota as well as services provided through Innovis Health. Tim serves on numerous boards, organizations and community groups throughout the Innovis Health service area.

Sherrie Floberg, RN

Sherrie is an occupational health nurse and is the Return to Work Case Manager for Workforce Safety & Insurance (WSI). She is responsible for conducting case management of ND Workers Compensation injured workers, by coordinating medical services and facilitating early return to work for Innovis Health's client companies. She will serve as a liaison between the injured worker, the employer, the health care provider and the North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance.

Charlene Koll, RN

Charlene is the Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse for Innovis Health. her duties include providing supervision for staff health and safety incidents, initiate activities to evaluate and control infection and promote safety, ensure compliance with regulatory bodies including Worker's Compensation and OSHA and to facilitate early return to work for work-related injured employees.

Marian Romanoski, RN

Marian is the Employee Health/Risk Management Nurse for Innovis Health. Her duties include providing direction for staff health and safety issues, initiate activities to evaluate and promote safety for employees and visitors. She ensures compliance with regulatory bodies including Workforce Safety and Insurance and OSHA and facilitates early return to work for occupationally injured workers. In addition to her duties, Marian also chairs or participates in numerous committees to ensure ongoing risk management.

Doug Swenson, MSPT

Doug has been Innovis Health's Physical and Occupational Therapy Department Manager since 1996 and has been employed with the clinic since 1991. He received his training from Moorhead State University and Boston University where he received his master's degree in physical therapy from Sargent College of Allied Health Professionals. Doug works closely with local businesses performing ergonomic work site assessments for employee safety and injury prevention. He also presents information to local businesses on injury prevention in the workplace.

Jim Bitz, MPT

Jim has a master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Mary. He has experience in areas of outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine and acute care. Jim is certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Cari Frisk, M.S.

Cari earned her undergraduate degree in Communications Disorders from the University of North Dakota. She went to receive her masters in Audiology from Minot State University. Cari is experienced in all areas of clinical practice involving diagnostic testing and advanced programmable and digital hearing aid fittings. She is licensed in North Dakota.

David Wey, Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist

David is licensed in North Dakota and certified in Minnesota. David specializes in fitting all makes, styles and technologies including analog and digital. He is capable of doing audiometric testing and evaluations. David has been with Innovis Health since 1989.

Pamela DeTienne, RRT, RPFT

Pamela worked in Respiratory Care for 26 years. She is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and also a Registered Pulmonary Function Tech. She worked at St. Alexius in Bismarck N.D. from 1979 to 1987 in the pulmonary Function Lab. She then moved to Dakota Hospital in 1987 and worked and coordinated the Cardio-Pulmonary lab until 2002. She joined Innovis Health in 2002 as the Coordinator of the Pulmonary Lab.
