Our Philosophy of Care
The Innovis Birthing Center team believes that birth is truly a miracle, a precious event in the life of every parent and family member. We are committed to providing an atmosphere that promotes and assists with continuous bonding and interaction between you, your newborn, and your family members.
To provide the personalized care that you and your baby will require, you — with support from your nurse — will complete your individualized plan of care which will be followed throughout your stay with us.
We have private birthing rooms to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. You can take a virtual tours of our rooms, watch a video about the Birthing Center, or meet with our staff and take a walk through the Birthing Center yourself. Read more about our Birthing Rooms by clicking here.
Our team of providers at the Innovis Birthing Center includes physicians, certified nurse-midwives, registered nurses, LPN's, educators, secretaries, social workers, hospitality service providers, case managers and clergy — all who are involved and contribute to the support, promotion, and assurance of a positive family-centered birth experience.

Tender Transitions
Many of us, being moms ourselves, realize that support is helpful in those first few days at home. That is why our nursing staff is available for you — even after you leave the hospital, either by your calling a special 24 hour help line which will be answered by an obstetrical nurse, or by your returning as often as you like for support, encouragement, and further education.
Visiting
Welcoming a new baby into the family is a joyous time, and friends and family members will be anxious to come to visit. The Birthing Center welcomes visitors at any time. Please realize, though, that a new mom needs time to rest, to learn how to care for her baby, and also to simply get acquainted with him or her! Out of respect for this, we observe "Quiet Time" from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM every afternoon. Please plan your visit accordingly to give our new moms the "Quiet Time" they need and deserve.
In the NICU, babies' moms are given an ID bracelet and are welcome to visit. Mom is given a second ID bracelet which she can give to a support person of her choice (ie: baby's dad, a grandparent, a friend, etc.) and that person is also welcome to visit. Other persons are allowed to come into the NICU to visit only if accompanied by a person with an ID bracelet. This is done both for privacy and infection control purposes.
Patient-Centered
Our moms-to-be are most important. As you plan your birth experience, you can expect our nursing staff to be attentive to your desires.

Fetal Monitoring System
Monitoring your baby's condition — close to the time of birth — is very important. Our fetal monitoring system is mobile, which means you can be comfortable in or out of bed, while at the same time enabling caregivers to evaluate your baby's progress. And you can be comfortable in knowing that the system used can enable your physician or midwife to view your monitor strip in the office and even from home!
